John is a 7 Time Award Winning Chef, most recently winning the People's Choice Award at the Key West 2014 BBQ Competition. He started as a server and cook. He worked his way through college and has a BS Degree in Computer Science and a Minor in Math and Spanish. He was born and raised in the South.  He came to Key West after having run numerous restaurants up and down the East Coast. He had his own TV show down in Key West called "Cooking in the Keys with John Hines". Besides owning Turquoise, John is also the Food and Beverage Director for the Doubletree by Hilton Grand Key Resort in Key West. He was married to a smoking hot gorgeous and very understanding wife, Shari, in Las Vegas by Elvis and has a beautiful step daughter, Shannon. His brother, Tim, helps him run the restaurant. "I couldn't do it without him!  It takes a special kind of crazy to be in this business, but I love it. Now let's go get some beignets!"
